An AFAS integration retrieves data from AFAS and sends it fully automatically to another system, for example SAP. It can also be done the other way around. Then data is extracted from another system and automatically sent to AFAS. The words integration, interface and connector all mean the same thing.
You can prepare a set of data in AFAS and that data can then be automatically retrieved by a developer. Think of an employee’s personal information: date of employment, gender, age, etc. AFAS calls this set of data a GetConnector. Even a non-technical person can modify these so-called GetConnectors.
An UpdateConnector is the exact opposite of the GetConnector. In fact, you can use this to put data into AFAS.
A system can almost always be linked. The only conditions is that a system must already be set up. If you start linking before the system is set up, the linking will have to be adjusted all the time during set-up. That, of course, is a waste of time.
