Neways Electronics chose Salure’s AFAS international solution for a globally streamlined HR process.
"We wanted one system that could support all countries."
Neways develops and manufactures highly complex electronics that facilitate key trends around global ESG themes. The company serves major customers in various sectors, such as semiconductor solutions, smart mobility and connectivity, and has 3,000 employees across multiple strategic locations, including the Netherlands, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, China, Malaysia and the US. Mark van der Heijden, Global Manager HR Systems & Analytics at Neways, played a key role in the transition to AFAS. “We wanted one system that could support all countries,” says Mark. Salure was chosen for their expertise in implementing the AFAS system, which offered not only the technical knowledge, but also the flexibility in international rollout.

Thoughtful approach and technological reinforcement
Salure stood out because of their in-depth knowledge of AFAS and their experience with international implementations. “When we talked to our colleagues in Germany about the ‘Krankenkasse,’ Salure immediately knew how to handle this,” shares Mark. The project involved phased implementation, starting in the Netherlands and expanding to other countries.
The deployment of Salure’s AFAS translation module gave Neways control over translations, which helped improve employee perception of the HR environment abroad. In addition, the BrynQ data analytics platform played a crucial role in enhancing Neways’ ability to deliver comprehensive management reports.
The project efforts have paid off in the form of improved reporting uniformity and operational efficiency. “We now report in a unified manner and save a tremendous amount of time,” explains Mark. Satisfaction among both employees and managers has increased, thanks to the ability to request self-declarations and leave via the AFAS PocketApp or AFAS InSite.
Mark concludes with some tips for similar implementations and a reflection on success: “Make sure all definitions and processes are clear and make sure you keep everyone involved. That makes it not just your system, but really their system.”
